An article from the Home News Tribune titled
"Alan’s Fine Footwear specializes in dyed shoes"
You’ve probably heard a tale or two about the woes of getting
shoes dyed. Not from any customers of Alan’s Fine Footwear,
located in Colonial Village, Parsonage Road and Route 27, Edison (732)
321-6510. That’s because the store’s owner, Alan Buscemi,
has earned a reputation throughout the industry as one of the best
in an admittedly “rough business.” Because of the complexities
involved in properly dyeing shoes, few shops offer that service nowadays,
he notes. “To make the customer happy, you really have to know
what you’re doing.” Buscemi says. “Our dyeables
are impeccable; they are custom blended to match the gown” Last
year, Alan’s Fine Footwear completed an estimated 1,500 orders
for dyed shoes. Buscemi opened his first shoe store in Menlo Park
Mall in 1984, then relocated the business to its current location
three years ago, when he added men’s shoes to his shop. A full-service
shoe store, Alan’s Fine Footwear carries all sizes and widths
in - just as the store’s name suggests – some of the finest
footwear available today. For women, the store carries shoes by such
exceptional manufactures as Naturalizer, S.A.S., Trotters, New Balance,
Johanson, Dyeables, Special Occasions, Touch Ups, and Liz Rene. Known
for years for carrying the best walking shoes made for women in the
United States, Alan’s Fine Footwear has extended that distinction
into the men’s department, which also features dress casual
shoes including some dress shoes imported from Italy. Buscemi assures
that he can special order tuxedo shoes. |
